Brisbane, QLD: After winning one of five $25,000 grants from the St George Bank Kick Start competition, Conweigh will weigh free of charge the first 500 export shipping containers booked via the Conweigh Android App (iOS coming soon) or web booking platform throughout Australia this July 2016.

Across Australian ports, an excess of 6,000 shipping container units need weight verification every day from 1 July 2016 in compliance with the new SOLAS container weight rule.

‘Even in a traditional industry like shipping, the on-demand model works better for the customer and the service provider,’ said Conweigh’s CEO Mr James Oliver.

Similar to other On Demand Mobile Services such as Uber, Conweigh technicians come to the shipper’s site to weigh their containers, an improvement compared to the traditional method where shippers bring their containers to public weighing platforms.

In less than half an hour, a container is weighed and its VGM Certificate generated instantly.

Shippers and freight forwarders can create their account at or at the mobile app to login and use the promo code FIRST500FREE to have their containers weighed free of charge.
About Conweigh: Conweigh is a new mobile container weighing service founded in 2015 that aids shippers, freight forwarders, and terminal operators in complying with the new SOLAS regulation effective 1 July 2016 which mandates verifying container weight and presenting the weight information document called Verified Gross Mass (VGM).
